More about our viola teachers:

I teach violin, viola, and piano. I started playing piano at age 4, violin at age 6, and viola in college.  Growing up in Pittsburgh, I was a member of the Pittsburgh Youth Symphony Orchestra.  I received a bachelor’s degree in Violin Performance from Baldwin Wallace Conservatory.  I recently moved to the Philadelphia area to study violin with David Kim, concertmaster of The Philadelphia Orchestra.  I have experience teaching private and group lessons to students of all ages and working with several youth orchestras.  I have really enjoyed my teaching experiences so far and cannot wait to continue to share my love for music with students.  I hope to teach each student not only how to become better at their instrument, but encourage them to express themselves through their music, to learn how to work well with others and collaborate with their music, and to develop a strong appreciation for music. - Read More About Therese

I teach violin and viola. I began to play violin at the age of six and graduated from the Sobinov Saratov State Conservatory in 2005, actively performing in solo, chamber ensembles, and string quartet concerts. Among my awards are the Grand Prize in the Fourth Regional Goldenberg Violin Competition, stipend from the “Russian Performing Art” foundation, Diploma at the 5th Demidov International Violin Competition, and an award from the VI “Golden Talent.” In 2006, I was selected to join “Youth Symphonic Orchestra of CIS Countries” and through 2009 toured the cities of CIS, Europe, and USA under such conductors as Yury Simonov, Mark Gorenstein, and Vladimir Spivakov. In 2010 I was accepted into Artist Diploma Program at Temple University in Philadelphia and completed my Master of Music degree in violin performance (2014) in the class of Professor Schmieder. I am currently working toward an MM as a second major in viola. I currently play with Symphony in C and New Jersey Capital Philharmonic Orchestra. Read More About Akhmed

I teach violin and viola. I began my musical studies on piano at age three.  After taking up the violin at age seven, I made my debut performance at The Kimmel Center in Verizon Hall. Participating in world renowned programs has brought me to many places, including the Trentino Music Festival, Siena Music Festival, Aspen Music Festival, North American Viola Institute, Orford Centre d'Arts Contemporary Music Academy, Pennsylvania Governor's School for the Arts, and The Meadowmount School of Music. My pedagogy incorporates the Suzuki Method with musical theory fundamentals. I have attended Suzuki training seminars at the Ithaca College in New York State, along with the Rebecca Henry Suzuki training course at the Peabody Institute. I am ambitious to continue my teaching and performing career, and positively impact the classical industry. - Read More About Jarred
I teach cello, violin, and viola. The instruments that make up a string quartet! I offer thirteen years of experience playing the cello and five years of teaching experience. I received my Bachelors in Cello Performance at the University of Georgia where I studied with David Starkweather. Recently, I received my Masters in String Pedagogy at Temple University where I studied extensively with Jeffrey Solow. I studied abroad in Italy at the Conservatorio A. Vivald in Alessandria, Italy with Claudio Merlo. In Italy, I had the chance to perform solo works and tour with the conservatory orchestra. I have been featured in masterclasses with Narek Hakhnazaryan, Nick Canellakis, Mikhail Milman, Mihai Tetel, Michael Mermagen, David Finckel, and Duo Sonidos. I was a member of Levon Ambartsumian's ARCO chamber orchestra and recorded and performed with the ensemble. I have also play the Brevard Music Festival in North Carolina under the baton of Boston Pop's Keith Lockhart. While in Georgia, I taught for the University of Georgia Community Music School and the Eugene Lee School of Music where I would teach privately, give group classes, and sectionals for the orchestra. I taylor my knowledge and experience as a musician to the individuality of the student. The student's musicality is my guide and I find importance in relaxed playing. Along with the teachings of great string players in history, I employ the Suzuki method and Gordon Music Learning Theory in my teaching. -Learn More About Carolina
I teach Violin, Viola, Cello, Piano, Guitar, and Ukulele. I played in orchestra throughout High School and received my undergraduate degree from Temple University in Music Production.  Since graduating, I've been working and teaching in the Philadelphia area to all ages and skill levels. While teaching, I like to make sure that my students not only enjoy experiencing music every week, but that they are also working on long term goals that follow standard curricula. I believe that setting standards of expectations bring out the best potential in each student no matter who or how old they are. - Read More About Jenny
