Looking for a fun (and free!) event for the whole family this weekend? Former Philly Music Babies teacher, Claire Abribat, will be at our neighboring bookstore!
Storytime is back at The Head & The Hand this Saturday, April 20th. Join Claire, illustrator of the newly released Children’s book “The Adventures of Lucy G. Bohannon” for a community story-time and craft event.
Through rhyme and lyrical verse, authors Cindi Abribat and Kathleen Bohannon bring us Lucy’s heartwarming epic, full of rich emotion. Colorful, hand-painted gouache illustrations will delight readers both young and old and bring the tale to life. Her story highlights the enduring bond between humans and their beloved pets.
After the story, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a traveling collaborative art project that Claire has shared with the libraries and schools that she has toured so far entitled, “The Traveling Library of Dogs”. Little artists will make inky puppy portraits inspired by Lucy using orange gouache paint and black ink. Then, they will give their pup a special name and decide if they’d like to donate their creation to the Traveling Library or take it home to keep as their own. Makers choice! Ideal age range for craft: 4-8.
