Hi, my name is Christina! I am a professional violinist and vocalist with over 12 years of violin training experience and 8 years of vocal training and performance experience. I earned my Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Musical Theater from Temple University, where I developed a strong foundation in music, performance, and stage artistry.
As a violinist, I have performed professionally with the Delaware Shakespeare Company and have extensive experience playing in both solo and ensemble settings. My diverse performance background has allowed me to collaborate with a wide range of artists and organizations, bringing versatility, precision, and musicality to every performance.
In addition to my instrumental work, I am an accomplished singer and musical theater performer. I have worked professionally with Disney Cruise Line, RWS Entertainment Group performing for audiences across a variety of venues and productions. These experiences have given me a well-rounded understanding of both vocal and instrumental performance techniques.
Through my teaching, I am passionate about helping students develop strong technical skills and a lifelong appreciation for music. Drawing from my extensive professional experience in violin, voice, and musical theater. I create personalized lessons that inspire students of all ages and skill levels to achieve their musical goals
When did you begin playing violin, and why?
When I was around 6 my Mom started putting me into lessons and I fell in love with it. She told me a story when my Teacher was trying to move me into playing the Viola in the 3rd grade but my mom said no she is sticking with Violin. I began singing ever since I was little but was put into lessons around the 4th grade. I watched “West Side Story” and honestly fell in love with theater.
What other instruments do you play, and what is your experience with them?
I play percussion and piano! Started playing piano around the same time I started singing.
What are your personal goals as a musician?
My personal goals instead of having a career from it is that I also want to be able to move people and bring them to a different place.
Do you have a memory of a time when a musical concept or technique really clicked? Something you’ll remember forever?
It’s huge in the string department when you finally learn vibrato. I think at that time I realized that you can’t force it. You just have to let it glide natural. That’s something I stuck with during my time as a beginner in Violin.
What is your favorite piece of advice from one of your past (or current) teachers?
Be free and loosen yourself! Move the bow!
What was your most challenging moment learning an instrument?
The most challenging moment with learning violin from a kid to an adult is that sometimes the enjoyment can go away when you become older. There can also be both enjoying your instrument but also trying to progress and learn as well.
What is your biggest musical achievement?
My biggest musical achievement is my Senior Year recital when suggested to play “Adoration” by Florence P. Price. This was outside of my typical classical repertoire. It was a soulful free tempo and was very moving. Being able to play a piece that is a part of my culture felt great and would love to continue on diving into it more.
Favorite thing about teaching?
I enjoy seeing students grow and learn. Take risk and see more confidence within my students. That’s the most satisfying factor about teaching is seeing your students continue to grow!
What is a piece of advice you would like to share with anyone learning music?
If you’re starting out with a new instrument try to find a song you enjoy and learn it. If you start from something you enjoy it will bring your attention to it quicker by drawing that connection.
